The
single naval exit from Evia to the Aegean is in the
Municipality of Kimi, as well as the location of an
ancient city which was famous for its colonies.
We
are referring to Kimi, which in association with Chalkida
had founded a lot of colonies, from which derived the
homonymous alphabet to the ancient world.
The
modern coastal Kimi along with the adjacent near the
sea-villages is considered touristic area with beautiful
beaches and several hotels.
The
gorgeous Oxilithos is included in the same
municipality is built on the slopes of the sharpened hill,
which had been a volcano some hundreds of thousands years
before.
