It became famous, parti-cularly after the passing of its charismatic abbot, Iakovos, whose grave is located outside of the temple. The monastery is 35 km. away from Aedipsos. The crossroad is at the 22nd km. on the road Aedipsos – Limni, at the height of Rovies.

Monastery of Galatakis. It is the oldest and the most historical monastery of Northern Evia. It is almost 12 km away from the town of Limni. The scenery and the view to Evoikos are bewitching for the votary. In the precinct of the monastery, an old tower still stands.
