of Byzantium.
Panagia
Dinious. Chapel of Istiea built in an enchanting
plane-wood.
The
manor-house and tomb of Leivs. In the deep-green
Kastaniotisa of Oreoi, lies the residence and the tomb of
the first owners of the region, who were murdered in 1854.
The
location of the sea-fight of Artemisio. The inner
space between Pefki and Agriovotani, where in 480 BC the
naval forces of the Persians met strong resistance by the
united Greek forces. From the same inner space, the brass
magnificent statues of Poseidon and Ippeas were brought to
surface, and today they are decorating our National Museum.
Tower
of Drosinis. Chateau (Venetian type), built in Gouves of
Artemisio by the Turk Imbraim Agas, at the early 19th
century and them came to the possession of the family of our
distinguished poet G. Drosinis.
