Monastery
of Matzaris. Old nunnery, built on a leeward slope of
the homonymous hill, in altitude of 200 meters, opposite to
Oxilithos and to the north of Orios. It celebrates in honor
of Virgin Mary in the 23rd of August.
Old
monastery of Klivanos. Historical monastery which
doesn’t function any more. It is on a slope of a hill (300
m) covered in pine-trees, to the east of the village
Kremastos and to the S.W. of village Orologi.
Monastery
of Metamorfosis Sotiros of Kimi. Old historical convict
(a nunnery today). It is sited 5 km northern of Kimi, in an
environment with cliffs, wild nature and magnificent view.
Folklore
museum of Kimi. A very well-groomed folklore museum. It
was founded in 1980.
Monument
of Ioannis Velissarios (Kimi). Museum and statue to the
honor of the heroic officer from Kimi, known as the
"black rider" in the Balkan Wars.
Tower
of Koutoumoula. Well-preserved Venetian tower, in a
salient position near the village of Koutoumoula.
Ancient
Distos. Signs of the ancient city. The enclosure of the
stronghold is reinforced by 11 square towers. It forms a
semicircle around the rocky lake-side.
Stronghold
of Armena (Stira). It is the ruins on the top of Agios
Nikolaos (altitude of 450 m), at Kliosi, visible from any
spot of the region of Stira. The newest castle, during the
domination of Venice, was built over the walls of the
ancient stronghold of Stira.
