The
visitor, during the suggested tours in order to become
acquainted with northern Evia, will have the opportunity, to
visit and admire apart from the unique beauty of nature,
several natural monuments too, in the cities and the areas
he will meet. But lets have a look in some of them,
indicating their corresponding numbered positions on the
map.
Lichada,
Lichadonisia. Region
of unique natural beauty and history, which starts in
the times of legend, goes through classic antiquity and
curries on to the years of the Turkish domination.
Curative
springs of Aedipsos. They were well-known since ages.
They have accented Aedipsos as the oldest touristic city
world widely. Curative springs equivalent to these of
Aedipsos are spurting in Gialtra and Ilia.
Nisiotissa.
Fabulous beach, to the south of N. Pirgos of Oreoi. There is
a construction on the little island,
since the period of the Vennice domination.
Kanatadika,
hydro-biotopes and hydrophilic forest.
Picturesque coastal village of Istiea, on the vast sandy
coastline of Northern Evia. The village is between a natural
ecosystem of two hydro-biotopes, the small and the big
Livari (Laguna), which are under the protection of the
program Natura 2000. Under the same program comes the
hydrophilic forest of Agios Nikolaos too. It is located 800
meters to the South of the beach of Kanatadika.
