Relatively
unapproachable, but of unique beauty, the rocky (at their
most) shores of eastern Evia, have the advantage to offer
small oasis by the beach, of extraordinary beauty, like
those of Limnionas
and
Chiliadou.
The
view of the scenes is beyond any description. Over the beach
of Chiliadou, in high attitude, and in a region with
panoramic view to the Aegean, we find the Old monastery of
Chiliadou. According to the tradition, this beautiful and
prototypal Byzantine church, was named "Chiliadou"
because it was the 1000th which was built border of the
empress Theodora (830-856).
