Two
of the largest municipalities of Evia, these of Messapia and
Dirfis, constitute this very interesting part of the island,
with the excess of natural grace. From Delfi, the higher
peak of Evia to the fiords of the precipitous though
astonishing bea-ches and from the verdurous villages near
Dirfis to the fertile plain of Psa-chna and the west coasts
of Politika, of Dafni and Nerotrivia.
The
access to the low-land cities of Messapia, in Steni and to
the central high-land mountains of the region, is relatively
easy through the existing traffic system. Things get rougher
when approaching the eastern coasts, since driving up or
down of Dirfis, with a lot and closed turns, is making the
ride difficult. But it also makes the beautiful villages and
beaches of the eastern site, an ideal place of escape for
the lovers of wild nature. So, even the foundation of a club
of "Friends of Chiliadou" from the residents of
the Greek capital, is not by chance!
