The
area around the capital of Evia, is considered to be one of
the most touristically advanced parts in Evia.
All
the beaches on the coasts of both sides of Euripus, from
Artaki to Lefkanti and from Anthidona to Avlida, have a big
number of touristic facilities, small and big hotel units,
orga-nized beaches and entertainment clubs.

The
rest of the cities of central Evia (Artaki, beaches of
Vasiliko, Anthidona and Avlida), are presenting an image
similar to that of the capital of the prefecture.
Mostly
during the summertime, a lot of cultural events take place,
especially in Chalkida, due to the initiatives of the
municipalities and the cultural public agents of the region.
